How will AI glasses change the future of work?

AI + AR glasses are evolving fast and three different strategies are starting to shape what work might look like next.

Meta's Orion smart glasses now handle translation, messaging, navigation, and hands-free creation. In the future these will be paired with Meta’s neural wristband (EMG), moving toward subtle, almost invisible input (tapping a finger instead of pulling out a phone).

Amazon 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲.

Its delivery-driver glasses put package info, navigation, and proof-of-delivery directly in a driver’s field of view. The value is simple: shave seconds off millions of stops.

The new Quark AI Glasses bundle translation, object recognition, and integrated shopping in a lightweight frame with hot-swappable batteries.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀?

In theory, we look down at our phones LESS and look out into the world MORE with information woven into what we see instead of pulling us away from it.

There are real considerations around privacy, attention, and over-reliance on overlays. But IF the tech stays useful, unobtrusive, and grounded in human needs, AI glasses could shift computing back toward the physical world instead of deeper into our screens.
